Proven ion exchange process for soft water The Aqmos R2D2-48 uses the proven ion exchange process used in water softening systems worldwide. The hardness minerals calcium (Ca²+ + ) and magnesium (Mg²+ ) contained in tap water are replaced by sodium ions (Na+. The limescale is effectively removed and the result is soft, low-lime water that protects pipes, household appliances and fittings in the long term.
